Addressing Skinny-Fat


Have You Ever Heard Of SKINNY-FAT People?

They are those skinny people who look healthy but are not. They have lots of bad fat, high cholesterol and the scary thing is they do not know!!! This explains why someone who looks healthy can suddenly slump and die due to blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes related issues because they thought they were healthy. We all know one or two skinny-fat people; they never eat vegetables, love burgers, shawarma and have not exercised since they left secondary school yet they still look slim. When you look at a skinny-fat person, he/she may not look ‘Overweight or FAT’, but their organs could be coated with visceral fat.

What is Visceral fat? It is also known as intra-abdominal fat and is located between internal body organs unlike the Subcutaneous fat which is found underneath the skin. An excess of visceral fat is known as Central Obesity or Pot belly. The location of the Visceral fat makes it very hard to lose.

The major problem with Visceral fat is that when you have it in excess around your organs it can interfere with your liver functions. This can lead to insulin resistance (the beginning of diabetes), high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure and it also puts the person at a higher risk of developing heart disease.

1. Stay away from soft drinks

Yes, it can be hard to stop taking your favourite soft drink especially at parties but it is important to stop ingesting dangerous toxins.
